Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products, components, or systems for manufacturing.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to optimize cost and performance.
- Conduct design analysis, simulations (e.g., FEA), and calculations to validate designs.
- Develop and manage prototypes for testing, evaluation, and design refinement.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability.
- Generate comprehensive design documentation, specifications, and bills of material (BOMs).
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Proven proficiency with 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) for part and assembly design.
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal) and material properties.
- Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment, including prototyping, testing, and product validation.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
- Advanced FEA/CFD simulation experience
- Proficiency with CAM software and machining processes
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
