Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs using CAM software for multi-axis milling machines.
- Analyze engineering blueprints, 3D models, and specifications to determine machining processes.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining parameters for optimal performance.
- Simulate and verify CNC programs to prevent collisions and ensure part accuracy.
- Create detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and operational instructions for machine operators.
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing CNC programs to improve efficiency and part quality.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams on new product introductions.
- Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360) for generating toolpaths and G-code.
- Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming, machining principles, and tooling.
- Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models.
- Proven experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC mills.
- Knowledge of various materials, cutting tools, and their application in machining processes.
- Experience with 4-axis or 5-axis CNC programming.
- Proficiency in a secondary CAD/CAM software (e.g., NX CAM, HyperMill).
- Knowledge of G-code and M-code editing or post-processor modification.
- Experience with CMM programming or advanced metrology techniques.
- Ability to design custom workholding fixtures.
