Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs using CAM software for multi-axis milling machines.
- Create and optimize toolpaths to achieve specified part dimensions and surface finishes.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding strategies for various materials.
- Perform program simulations and troubleshoot potential machining errors or collisions.
- Collaborate with machinists and engineers to refine designs and improve manufacturing processes.
- Develop and maintain tooling libraries and post-processors for specific machines.
- Generate detailed setup sheets and work instructions for machine operators.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
- Strong understanding and ability to write/edit G-Code and M-Code.
- Proven experience in programming 3-axis and multi-axis CNC milling machines.
- Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and GD&T.
- Knowledge of cutting tool selection, workholding, and machining strategies for various materials.
- Experience with advanced standalone G-code simulation software (e.g., Vericut).
- Ability to design and optimize workholding fixtures.
- Experience with post-processor development or modification.
- Knowledge of automation integration (e.g., robotics, pallet systems).
