Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
- Generate and manage purchase orders to ensure timely procurement of materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production planning to prevent shortages.
- Identify and implement strategies for cost reduction and supply chain efficiency.
- Ensure all purchased materials comply with quality standards and specifications.
- Resolve issues related to supplier performance, delivery, and material quality.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for purchasing, inventory, and order management.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience in supplier relationship management, including contract negotiation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards relevant to the industry.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends, cost data, and supplier performance metrics.
- Technical understanding of manufacturing processes or components.
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
- Experience with specific ERP systems common in manufacturing (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor).
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Fluency in a second language relevant to international sourcing.
