Maintenance Mechanic in Reno, NV

We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support daily plant operations. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals with a trades background or recent technical school graduates. Positive, eager to learn, and ready to grow in their career.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on belts, piping, filters, mixers, conveyors, valves, bearings, and seals.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment to resolve and prevent issues
- Maintain and repair pumps, motors, drives, conveyors, pneumatics, and production equipment
- Install and service control devices, sensors, and motor control systems
- Troubleshoot PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred) and 480V 3-phase electrical systems
- Read and work from blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documents
- 3–5 years of mechanical maintenance or skilled trades experience
- Vocational/Trade school equates 2 years of work/field experience for this role
- Must be 18 years of age, High school diploma or GED required
- Strong Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting skills
- PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley preferred)
- Experience with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read technical drawings and work independently
- Basic computer skills such as MS Office applications; CMMS experience a plus
- Fabrication and Welding experience a plus
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, climb ladders, work at heights, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces
- Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, noisy, or industrial environments
- Demonstrated sense of urgency and ownership
- Strong attendance and reliability
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with operations, production, and leadership teams
- Solution oriented
- Follow all plant safety policies, OSHA regulations such as lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, PPE requirements, etc.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards
- Safely work around chemicals, pumps, tanks, and pressurized systems
- Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
