Maintenance Mechanic in Reno, NV

Full-Time Benefits

Shift: Monday - Thursday 3:15 PM - 1:45 AM, with frequent overtime on Fridays

We're seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support daily plant operations. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined individuals with a trades background or recent technical school graduates. Positive, eager to learn, and ready to grow in their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on belts, piping, filters, mixers, conveyors, valves, bearings, and seals.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment to resolve and prevent issues
• Maintain and repair pumps, motors, drives, conveyors, pneumatics, and production equipment
• Install and service control devices, sensors, and motor control systems
• Troubleshoot PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred) and 480V 3-phase electrical systems
• Read and work from blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documents

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of mechanical maintenance or skilled trades experience
• Vocational/Trade school equates 2 years of work/field experience for this role
• Must be 18 years of age, High school diploma or GED required
• Strong Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting skills
• PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen Bradley preferred)
• Experience with hand tools and power tools
• Ability to read technical drawings and work independently
• Basic computer skills such as MS Office applications; CMMS experience a plus
• Fabrication and Welding experience a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, climb ladders, work at heights, kneel, crouch, and work in confined spaces
• Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, noisy, or industrial environments

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all plant safety policies, OSHA regulations such as lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, PPE requirements, etc.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards
• Safely work around chemicals, pumps, tanks, and pressurized systems
• Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
