Fabricator and Installer – Plato MN

The purpose of this job is to assist with the fabrication and installation of solid surface products. Working as part of a team, must be able to operate assorted hand tools, safely operate machinery, and promote the highest levels of customer satisfaction. This position reports directly to the Production Lead.

Essential Job Functions:

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Interface with co-workers to coordinate project needs, including metal framework, crating, shipping, & job scheduling.

·        Fabricate materials (solid surface and others) according to specifications.

·        Promote the highest levels of customer satisfaction through accurate quality work and courteous, conscientious positive attitude.

·        Travel to job sites and install solid surface products.

·        Maintain sufficient inventory of necessary project materials and shop supplies.

·        Maintain shop equipment and perform other routine maintenance.

·        Assist with all other shop positions as schedule dictates.

·        Assist with other shop floor tasks as necessary.

·        Perform other related duties as assigned by manager within scope of practice.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·        Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·        Safety Compliance- Working knowledge of safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries. Including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following safe operating procedures.

·        Ability to read and interpret drawings & specs.

·        Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

·        Proficient use of shop equipment, tools, and fabrication methods.

·        Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

·        Well organized and ability to problem solve.

·        Practical knowledge of proper lifting techniques, equipment operation, and hazardous material handling practices.

Education and Experience:

·        High school diploma or equivalent.

·        Previous material handling experience- specifically solid surface slabs preferred

Physical Demands-Must be met with or without a reasonable accommodation:

·        Must be able to lift in excess of 100 pounds at times.

·        Must be able to traverse warehouse, shop and access a variety of storage spaces and units by stooping, stretching, squatting, and reaching.

·        Must have hand dexterity to handle objects, tools, or controls of various machinery.

·        Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close and distance vision, ability to distinguish between colors, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

·        Must be able to pass a DOT medical exam.

Other Qualifications:

·        Must be 18 years old or older to operate machinery or equipment.

·        Must have a current driver’s license.

·        Must have a DOT Medical Card or be willing to receive a DOT Medical Card.

·        Must adhere to the organization’s Safety AWAIR program.

·        Must have Forklift Certification or be willing to receive training.

Travel Requirements:

·        Frequent travel- ability to frequently travel to job site locations for different work-related activities including installations & deliveries.

Work Conditions:

·        This job will spend the majority of time working in a warehouse & shop environment, where proper PPE is required in accordance with AWAIR program. May be exposed to all types of weather conditions if asked to assist at a job site.  

This job is full-time and scheduled Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 3:00pm. Overtime may be required upon request by management. This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
