As a Japanese Teacher at Pinnacle School, you'll create an immersive language experience that helps students build communication skills, confidence, and cultural awareness through engaging, individualized instruction. What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, Japanese, or related field with a Master's preferred
- Valid Connecticut teaching certification in World Language, Special Education, or eligibility to obtain certification
- Minimum of two years of experience teaching students with language-based learning differences
- Experience with IEP development, progress monitoring, and data collection
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, flexible, and student-centered approach
- Design and deliver immersive Japanese language lessons that build practical communication skills
- Adapt instruction to meet the diverse learning, social, and emotional needs of each student
- Collaborate with clinicians, therapists, and educators to support student growth and IEP goals
- Create a structured, engaging classroom that supports executive functioning and positive behavior
- Promote cultural awareness by introducing Japanese traditions, customs, and perspectives
