The Pines at Davidson is hiring a Life Enrichment Coordinator to support our Memory Care neighborhood. This role is essential in planning, coordinating, and delivering meaningful life enrichment programs for residents living with dementia. Activities and programs are offered 7 days a week, and this position plays a key role in ensuring consistent, engaging, and person-centered programming.

Position Overview
The Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, and implementing activity programs tailored to the unique needs of residents living with dementia. This role focuses on enhancing quality of life, promoting social engagement, and supporting cognitive stimulation through structured and individualized programming.
This is a planning- and coordination-focused role, with direct resident engagement and collaboration across the interdisciplinary team to ensure programs meet residents’ needs and interests.
Schedule & Coverage
- Primary schedule: Full-time- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- On-call weekend rotation: Participation in an on-call schedule for weekends is required to ensure program coverage as needed. Being on call does not necessarily mean you will be called in, but it provides coverage and support when needed.
- Activities and life enrichment programs are provided 7 days a week, with coordinated team coverage.
Education & Experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or a related human services field is preferred, but not required
- High School Diploma
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills, including writing and verbal communication
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to integrate life enrichment programming with The Pines at Davidson’s mission, values, and resident care plans
- Ability to work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
What You Will Do
Program Planning & Coordination
- Plan, develop, and implement engaging life enrichment programs addressing the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive needs of residents with dementia
- Ensure programs are delivered consistently and align with best practices in memory care
- Create and manage the monthly Memory Care activity calendar, including in-room calendars for residents and unit bulletin boards
Resident Assessments & Documentation
- Complete initial, quarterly, and annual assessments of residents’ interests, abilities, and preferences
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of participation, goals, and outcomes
- Document daily programs and quarterly progress toward resident goals
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate daily with Life Enrichment team members and keep the Health Center Life Enrichment Manager informed of progress and concerns
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and caregiving staff to support holistic resident care
- Support family involvement and provide updates on activities and programs
Program Support & Safety
- Prepare materials and set up activity spaces, ensuring safety and organization
- Engage residents during activities, fostering a positive, inclusive environment
- Assist with special events, celebrations, outings, and family socials while ensuring all safety, release, and confidentiality requirements are met
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide backup programming coverage to skilled nursing and assisted living neighborhoods as needed, including scheduled holidays
- Assist with training new staff or volunteers as needed
- Attend department meetings, morning meetings, and ongoing educational opportunities
- Stay current with evidence-based practices in memory care and life enrichment
- Use creativity to develop programs that align with budget guidelines and responsible stewardship of resident funds
- Uphold resident rights, dignity, confidentiality, and advocacy at all times
Physical Requirements
- Visual acuity and manual dexterity for documentation and activity programming
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Ability to lift or move tables, chairs, equipment, or supplies
- Ability to push wheelchairs and assist residents as needed
- Flexibility in scheduling to support special events and family involvement
