Overview
The Pictswet in Monte Alto Texas is looking for experienced forklift operators to join our team. Forklift operators will drive electric powered or propane forklift equipped with lifting devices to move raw or finished product.
Responsibilities
- Performs daily inspections of forklift unit and reports any malfunctions.
- Positions forks, lifting platform (or other lifting device) under, over, or around pallets, skids, bins, materials, etc., and transports load to a designated area.
- Unloads and stacks load by raising and lowering device.
- May inventory materials in receiving area, in cool room storage, or on work floor.
- Supplies line workers with raw product as needed.
- Loads or unloads product onto or off of pallets, skids or lifting device.
- Changes battery.
- Ensures battery is charged and properly handled.
- Maintains work areas clean, organized and neat.
- Will don personal protective equipment (PPE) before commencing work.
- Follows all safety guidelines set forth by the Company.
- Assists other departments.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum six (6) months experience operating a forklift in an industrial setting
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules/signs, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
