What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Engineer position at The Phoenix Group?
A global asset management firm with is hiring a Systems Engineer to join their New York-based infrastructure team. This is a senior engineering role with broad scope across Windows, virtualization, cloud, and enterprise security.
The person in this role will be expected to own infrastructure decisions, lead projects end-to-end, and contribute to the long-term technical direction of a mature enterprise environment.
What you will be doing:
- Designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise Windows Server environments including identity, messaging, and database platforms
- Engineering and managing a full enterprise virtualization stack across on-premises and cloud-delivered environments
- Administering hybrid public cloud environments across major providers including IaaS and PaaS workloads, private networking, storage, and managed services
- Managing enterprise compute and storage infrastructure in a high-availability configuration
- Running vulnerability management and remediation programs across the environment
- Maintaining privileged access and identity management frameworks across the organization
- Building and maintaining PowerShell automation and deployment pipelines
- Operating enterprise monitoring platforms with advanced alerting, capacity planning, and reporting
- Supporting critical business applications including financial data platforms, trading systems, and fund operations tools
What they are looking for:
- 7 to 10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering
- Deep experience with enterprise virtualization platforms and associated delivery technologies
- Hands-on public cloud experience across major providers with IaaS and PaaS workloads
- Advanced Windows Server administration including identity management, clustering, and enterprise application support
- Experience with enterprise-grade compute and storage platforms in a high-availability environment
- Vulnerability management and privileged access management experience
- PowerShell scripting and pipeline automation
- Strong understanding of enterprise authentication frameworks

Salary : $160,000 - $185,000
