About The Petal

The Petal is a luxury flower shop in Edina. We’re hiring a friendly, dependable person to host our Bloom Bar at events around the Twin Cities and to help in the shop during our busiest floral holidays.

About the Bloom Bar Experience

Our Bloom Bar Experience is a mobile flower cart. At events, guests pick their own stems and build a bouquet to take home. As host, you run it from start to finish: you bring the cart, set it up, help guests, represent The Petal, and pack up at the end.

This is an on-call position with no regular schedule. You choose the events you can take. Most events are on weekday evenings or weekend mornings.

What You’ll Do

Bloom Bar events:

• Transport the Bloom Bar cart, flowers and supplies at the shop and drive them to events in the Twin Cities metro
• Set up the cart and flower display so it’s inviting and ready for guests
• Help guests choose stems and put together their bouquets
• Talk with guests as a brand ambassador for The Petal: share our story, answer questions and invite people to visit the shop
• Keep the display tidy and stocked during the event
• Tear down, pack up and bring everything back to the shop

Seasonal shop help:

• Help in the shop around Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and other floral holidays, plus some weekends
• Help with customers, packaging orders , answering phones, taking orders, wash buckets and keeping the shop running smoothly
• No floral design is involved. We’ll teach you everything you need to know.

What You’ll Need

• Your own SUV, van or similar vehicle that can carry the Bloom Bar cart and flowers
• A valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stay on your feet for the whole event
• A warm, outgoing personality and comfort chatting with people you’ve never met
• Reliability: you arrive on time and follow through
• Availability for some weekday evenings, weekend mornings and floral holidays
• Must be 18 or older

Nice to Have: Floral, retail, hospitality or event experience (not required)

Pay

• $125 flat rate per 90-minute Bloom Bar event. This includes set-up, tear-down, transportation and mileage, and it’s meant to cover your gas.
• $20/hour for event time beyond 90 minutes
• $20/hour for seasonal shop shifts
• Paid training before your first event

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 12.0 per week
