Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Closing Manager to oversee the operations of our establishment during the evening hours Monday - Friday, 5:00 - 10:00pm. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional service in a health and fitness environment. The Closing Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the operational aspects of the club during the final hours of the day. This position ensures that all club activities, services, and systems run smoothly as the facility transitions from a busy, operational state to a safe, clean and secure environment at the end of the business day. The Closing Manager is responsible for managing staff, securing the premises, and handling administrative tasks related to the closing process. Included in this position are the responsibilities of overseeing, operating and maintaining a safe and highly efficient pool area. Pool operations include housekeeping, pool chemistry and maintenance in the pool areas and locker rooms along with the hiring, training, development and scheduling of all pool attendants.
Duties
- Manage all closing operations, ensuring that the health club is running smoothly and efficiently.
- Supervise all closing staff, providing guidance and support.
- Enforcement of all member policies and rules in support of the front desk staff and all policies and procedures.
- Train and develop pool staff, fostering an environment of continuous improvement in enforcement and customer service.
- Handle employee management responsibilities, including hiring, training, scheduling and discipline of all pool attendants.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during evening hours.
- Ensure the safety and security of the health club by monitoring access points and verifying that all doors and windows are properly secured.
- Monitor the facility and cameras for safety and security.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly to enhance guest satisfaction. Fields member suggestions, requests, complaints and handles situations in a professional manner.
- Maintain and enforce proper employee conduct and performance.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues in the club. Handles unsatisfied members and guests.
- Takes the lead in emergency situations.
- Consistently conducts walk throughs of the entire facility addressing safety, behavior and conduct.
- Pool Maintenace in conjunction with the Physical Plant Manager.
- Pool Chemistry, record keeping and logs according to regulations.
- Housekeeping aspects of the hot tub, pools, pool desk, locker rooms, etc.
Qualifications
- 2 years of management experience.
- 2 years experience in leadership and supervising people.
- Certified Pool Operations License within 60 days of hire. (company paid)
- CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire. (company paid)
- Ability to work at a rapid pace while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism with members and employees.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to complete paperwork with accuracy.
- Experience in report writing and solid follow-up skills.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with both staff and customers effectively, especially when addressing conduct, behavior and unsatisfied guests.
- A passion for delivering high-quality service.
- Experience in pool operations a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
