The Patch Group is a commercial general contractor that operates out of Lafayette, LA. We specialize in turnkey commercial foundations, framing and disaster recovery services throughout south Louisiana.
We are looking for a competent Concrete Superintendent to help with the planning and execution of the daily tasks associated with our concrete field operations. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of tasks and work diligently under pressure. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.
Responsibilities
- Work with jobsite superintendents and crew members to execute daily work plans
- Assist the superintendent with managing and scheduling of subcontractors, suppliers, and employees
- Layout site work based on review of drawings and specifications
- Maintain safe working practices and conditions at all times
- Oversee all activities pertaining to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing
- Divide concrete construction projects into different stages and evaluate how much labor and materials are required for each stage
- Resolve all problems that may affect project quality and completion
- Consult blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed
- Delegate tasks to concrete laborers and provide overall guidance
- Maintain accurate records of the number of hours worked and the number of materials for each project
- Ensure that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering design and drawings
- Inspect concrete after the formwork and shoring has been removed and instruct concrete laborers how to correct defects and concrete roughness
