(EXCLUSIVE) HEAD OF NEGOTIATION & LITIGATION STRATEGY FOR PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURER (Fully Remote or Hybrid Atlanta) – Our client is seeking an experienced leader to shape how complex claims are handled across the organization, with a focus on improving outcomes, strengthening consistency, and supporting teams through high-stakes negotiation and litigation decisions.
This role sits at the center of the claims organization and blends strategy, leadership, and influence. The hire will help define how claims teams, leadership, and external counsel approach negotiation, mediation, and trial strategy—ensuring people have the tools, guidance, and support needed to make confident, well-informed decisions. Just as importantly, the hire will focus on how those strategies are adopted in practice, working closely with teams across the business to embed consistency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop clear, practical guidance to support negotiation, mediation, and litigation decision-making across claims teams
• Partner with leaders and frontline teams to help translate strategy into day-to-day execution
• Provide coaching, training, and tools to support consistent, confident decision-making
• Work closely with claims leaders and defense counsel to align on approach and improve outcomes
• Review outcomes and feedback from claims to identify what’s working and where support is needed
• Use insights and trends to continuously refine approaches and improve how teams operate
• Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on complex claim and litigation matters
What We’re Looking For:
• 15 years of experience in claims, litigation, insurance, and/or dispute resolution environments
• Strong background in negotiation, litigation strategy, or complex claims management with a particular focus on medical malpractice claims
• Proven ability to lead, influence, and support teams in a matrixed organization
• Comfortable working with data and insights to guide better decisions
• Experience partnering with attorneys or defense counsel
• Excellent communicator with a collaborative, people-first leadership style
