Job Title: Sr. Manager of Operations
Reports To: Regional General Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Job Type: Full-Time, San Jose, CA
Pay Range: $160,000 to $185,000 per year plus bonus opportunities
Summary:
The Sr. Manager of Operations is responsible for operational excellence, driving efficiency improvements, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction at E-Fab and Elcon.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement plans to enhance production efficiency, optimize workflows, and support business growth in photochemical etching and ceramic brazing processes.
- Establish long-term operational goals, providing input on the AOP including capital expenditure plans and capacity and resource planning ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations of both sites of the metal products division and the ceramics division, ensuring smooth production scheduling, resource allocation, WIP, and inventory control. Identify and assist mitigating bottleneck operations partnering with engineering.
- Drive operational consistency to improve efficiency and ensure customer satisfaction.
Productivity Improvements:
- Collect and analyze data to develop strategies for enhancing productivity and reducing waste. Take a lead role in driving closure on quality issues in partnership with quality.
- Leverage lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to implement improvements in process reliability, reduce defects, and cycle time.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, instilling a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance expectations for supervisors and staff. Conduct regular evaluations following company policies to ensure goals are met.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with support staff, quality, engineering, sales, finance, Facilities and supply chain teams to align production capabilities, capacity, cycle time and quality, with customer demands.
- Facilitate communication between departments to improve coordination and execution of operational plans.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to safety protocol, regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by enforcing compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
Performance Metrics:
- Drive key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational performance, cost efficiency, labor productivity, and quality control
- Regularly review, analyze, and communicate operational data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience preferred in operations management within a precision manufacturing environment, preferably involving ceramic brazing, machining, PCB mfg. or photochemical etching.
- Proven track record of implementing operational improvements that lead to measurable efficiency gains.
- Strong leadership, communication, and urgency skills, with the ability to evaluate and drive change while motivating teams.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/MRP systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Work will primarily be performed in a manufacturing environment.
- Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes to perform tasks efficiently.
- May require extended periods of standing or sitting, along with occasional pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting.
