The Paramount at Somers Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is searching for an Art Specialist to join our incredible Therapeutic Recreation team! This full-time position will assist the Director of Therapeutic Recreation in creating and implementing expressive creative arts programming which will reduce stress, improve mood and social skills for our residents.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create and implement resident art-focused programming.
- Ensure residents have culturally appropriate supplies and oversee ordering as needed.
- Work with Recreation Leaders to ensure exceptional execution of programs.
- Work collaboratively with Interdisciplinary team (IDT) to enhance resident care experience.
- Participate in planning and preparation for facility special events.
- Research, share and utilize latest Therapeutic Recreation modalities.
- Create individualized care plans for residents and participate in care plan meetings with IDT team.
- Document resident interactions and activities through progress notes in EMR system.
Experience needed:
- 1-2 years in creating and implementing art-focused programming in group settings, such as preschools, camps, community and senior centers, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Experience with geriatric and/or disabled populations preferred.
Salary:
$25/hr, Full Time Position
