Position Overview: The District Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all aspects of store operations across a defined market of 6–12 locations. This role drives financial performance and operational excellence by attracting and developing top talent, coaching Store Managers, and fostering a high-performing, customer-focused culture.
As the key link between the home office and store teams, the District Manager ensures consistent execution of company strategies, policies, and standards across all locations. This leader brings a deep understanding of retail operations and uses data, insight, and strong field presence to drive results, elevate the customer experience, and support the overall success of the business.
The District Manager reports directly to the Regional Manager.
What You’ll Do:
Be a TPS Brand Ambassador
Drive Business Performance
- Inspire and motivate store teams to deliver strong, consistent results
- Achieve or exceed sales targets, including plan, comp, and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Analyze business performance and implement action plans to drive sales and profitability
- Manage expenses, including payroll and operating costs, to support district and store profitability
- Connect financial metrics to operational performance and make data-driven decisions
Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain diverse, high-performing management talent
- Build strong succession pipelines to ensure bench strength and timely hiring
- Coach and develop Store Managers to elevate leadership capability and performance
- Manage employee relations matters in alignment with company standards
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and recognition
Execute Operational Excellence
- Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and standards across all locations
- Conduct regular store visits using the DM/GUEST checklist; assess performance and drive follow-up actions
- Maintain high standards for merchandise presentation and customer experience
- Ensure compliance with Loss Prevention policies and protect company assets
- Lead and execute company initiatives with consistency and accountability
Lead Through Communication, Ownership & Execution
- Communicate clearly and effectively, translating goals into actionable direction
- Build strong partnerships with peers, leadership, landlords, and home office teams
- Proactively assess the business and identify opportunities to improve performance
- Respond quickly to changing business needs and lead teams through solutions
- Prioritize and delegate effectively to maximize team productivity and impact

Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain active on the sales floor and in the stockroom for extended periods
- Capable of performing hands-on tasks such as merchandising, setting fixtures, and daily store maintenance (including climbing ladders and cleaning)
- Ability to lift and move merchandise (typically 5–25 lbs., up to 50 lbs.) using proper safety techniques
