We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join a dynamic real estate organization and play a key role in the financial operations of a premiere property portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of core accounting functions, contribute to financial reporting, and collaborate closely with leadership and cross-functional teams.

In this role, you will oversee financial reporting, billing and reconciliation processes, while also ensuring the accurate and timely administration of payroll through ADP.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
- Manage complex real estate billing, including CPI increases, real estate tax, operating expense, utility, and heat assessments.
- Oversee monthly closing activities and ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile multiple bank accounts and maintain strong financial controls.
- Calculate and prepare monthly management fee schedules.
- Prepare annual financial packages for auditors and tax professionals.
Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight
- Review and approve accounts payable check runs and deposits.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging to ensure timely rent collection.
- Verify that recurring charges are posted accurately to tenant accounts.
Payroll Administration
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees through ADP.
- Ensure timely filing of employment reports, payroll taxes, withholdings, and 401(k) contributions.
- Review employee time submissions for accuracy, including overtime, vacation, and personal time tracking.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain employee personnel files and related documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and leadership to support company financial operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting or Finance preferred)
- 5 years of real estate accounting experience
- Strong understanding of real estate billing structures and financial reporting
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Experience with ADP payroll systems preferred
