The #1 Priority of this position is…
To plan, facilitate and execute daily recreational, physical, social, spiritual, intellectual, group and individual activities while taking into consideration the residents’ interest profile.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Create exciting activities to fit the various recreational needs of all residents in the community.
- Execute special family and resident events to recognize secular, religious, national and indigenous holidays, birthdays and theme parties.
- Meet with each resident upon move-in to complete Resident Interest Profile and enter the information on CRM.
- Attend all marketing events, residents’ parties and family/resident luncheons and/or dinners.
- Schedule and carry-out, either personally or through others, daily structured and unstructured in-house events on an individual and group basis.
- Supervise activities assistant, volunteers and hire entertainers.
Qualifications
- Two years of experience in a social/recreational program; one of which was full-time in a senior center activities program or social activities in a healthcare setting.
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English. Spanish preferred.
- Basic math skills required. Must be able to plan and adhere to a yearly budget.
- Must be computer literate with extensive knowledge of PC programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Publisher, Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet Explorer & PowerPoint.
- Knowledgeable about various activities such as Arts & Crafts and enjoy singing and dancing.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related field or equivalent is desirable.

- Responsible, punctual, resourceful, creative, enthusiastic and sensitive to the needs of the elderly.
- Flexible as to work schedule. Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and must be available in emergency situations.
- Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently AND as a team member.
