Position Title: Trust Administrator

Department: Trust Department

Reports To: Senior Trust Relationship Manager

 

 

General Summary/Purpose

The Trust Administrator is responsible for the administration of assigned accounts, including but not limited to, compliance with governing documents, investments, distributions, and reporting to the Trust Committee. This position is also responsible for cultivating relationships within their assigned accounts to identify and secure new business.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

#1 Administration Percentage of time: 50 %

Performs continuing administration of assigned accounts including revocable and irrevocable trusts, estates, investment management/advisory accounts, conservatorships, custody, employee benefit and escrow accounts. Authorizes when appropriate, distributions to beneficiaries, payment of bills, coordinating the timely filing of tax returns, overseeing investment management review and implementation, coordinating real estate management and all other usual and customary duties required to administer estates and trusts. Prepares and presents annual administrative reviews.

 

#2 Compliance Percentage of time: 10 %

Stays informed regarding Trust related policies, laws and regulations concerning personal trust administration, employee benefit plans, trust planning and general fiduciary account administration. Assures accounts are in compliance with policy, laws and regulations.

 

#3 Investment Management Percentage of time: 10 %

Coordinate with retained investment advisors and mutual fund companies to ensure the investment services offered clients fulfill the investment goals and objectives established. Assure expenses are contained within approved limits.

 

#4 Relationship Development Percentage of time: 30 %

Develops relationships with existing customers, their families and heirs in order to provide the best service throughout the life of the trust relationship.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Skills Required

____ Limited training normally acquired through high school education

____ Specialized education/training normally acquired through up to 18 months’ of higher education

____ Education/training equivalent to an Associates’ Degree

____ Education/training equivalent to a Masters’ Degree

____ Advanced education/training in a recognized field of specialization, e.g. CPA, MBA

· Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

· Strong organization skills

· Ability to manage time effectively

· Ability to build relationships

· Experience in providing quality customer service

· Knowledge of Trust, Estate and Gift law

· Proficient computer skills
