Accounts Payable Specialist
The Out-of-Door Academy seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a thriving school that is committed to providing a relevant and student-centered learning experience.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Manages all accounts payable functions and accounts payable activity within established time frames.
- Reviews invoices for proper approval, expense allocation, and documentation.
- Coordinates with all vendors for inquiries as needed; maintains final documents for vendors.
- Prepares accurate month-end and year-end payable reports.
- Maintains accounts payable records within a confidential and organized filing system.
- Responsible for contract management, including documentation and contractual review.
- Provides general Business Office administrative tasks.
- Lives the school’s mission and core values of respect, integrity, service, excellence, and responsibility.
Qualifications
The following experience, skills & knowledge are required and/or preferred:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; excellent customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Experience with Blackbaud products, Financial Edge NXT, Smart Tuition, etc. preferred.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, and the Google drive platform.
- A successful track record of working effectively with a wide range of constituencies including parents, students and educators.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a 12-month full-time exempt position available January 2026. Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
