Job Summary:
We are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing transactions accurately when taking orders, handling cash and card payments, and providing exceptional customer service. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys interacting with the public and maintaining a positive checkout experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently using a POS system.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, and provide accurate change.
- Greet customers, answer questions, and provide assistance in a professional and friendly manner.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Monitor and manage inventory of supplies at the register.
- Resolve customer complaints in a patient and helpful manner, escalating issues to a manager when necessary.
- Assist with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Proven experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is a plus.
- Strong basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, afternoons and weekends.
