Job Title:
Nursing Assistant
Summary:
Under the direction of the nursing staff, provides care and services to residents at Stone Pear Pavilion. Performs duties such as ADL assistance, mobility assistance, positioning assistance, and feeding assistance.
Job Description:
- Provides care and services to residents as defined by individualized care plans.
- Takes and records temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
- Participates in resident activity program.
- Documents care provided to residents using approved documentation method.
- Reports any change in resident condition to the charge nurse immediately.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assists with stocking supplies in clean utility rooms.
- Attends meetings and training sessions required for the position.
Requirements:
- Certificate upon completion of an approved nurse's aide certification curriculum.
- Complete annual state mandated training requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, and resident charting notes and directives.
- Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and perform resident charting.
Physical Demands:
- The employee is regularly required to stand or walk throughout the facility.
- The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds when assisting a resident out of bed or a chair with the aid of lift equipment or assist of two.
Work Environment:
- Frequently exposed to airborne viruses and bacteria, as well as blood-borne, fecal-borne, and other bodily pathogens carried by residents.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes from bathroom odors and cleaners.
