The Position
The Network Engineer, Order Preparation supports the provisioning lifecycle throughout order entry, order preparation, solution design, and circuit activation. During the Order Preparation Phase, the position develops draft service orders from validated service requests and preliminary circuit designs, transitions approved requests into automated systems including documents circuit paths, and helps ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery through DISN or commercial resources.

The Position
The Network Engineer, Order Preparation supports the provisioning lifecycle throughout order entry, order preparation, solution design, and circuit activation. During the Order Preparation Phase, the position develops draft service orders from validated service requests and preliminary circuit designs, transitions approved requests into automated systems including documents circuit paths, and helps ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery through DISN or commercial resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide network engineering and administrative support for DISA systems; ensure alignment with mission objectives and analyze multi-layer network transport layers.
- Develop and process service orders from validated requests, utilizing automated and classified systems (e.g., WWOLS).
- Document and manage circuit paths across DISN using government or commercial resources, ensuring cost-effective service delivery
- Support development and monitoring of enterprise network infrastructure (CAN, MAN, WAN) for classified and unclassified environments.
- Resolve Held in Abeyance (HIA) items and escalate mission-critical issues as needed.
- Ensure compliance with TSP requirements and maintain accurate service order tracking and schedules.
- Validate QoS metrics and network performance for DISN and commercial connections.
- Maintain accurate service order documentation, including MCLs, CP&D, and non-conforming circuit lists.
- Communicate effectively and provide technical guidance across cross-functional teams.
- Troubleshoot systems and applications; support network maintenance, upgrades, and performance optimization.
- Execute EIS transition activities, including circuit analysis and coordination on TSIPs.
- Support end-to-end circuit transitions, including POC validation, timeline management, and status reporting.
- Adhere to all safety, security, and compliance requirements and perform additional duties as assigned.
- On-site in Columbus, OH.
- Day shift with flexibility for swing or alternate hours as needed.
- Minimum Active Secret Security Clearance; AND,
- High School Diploma or equivalent; AND,
- 2 years of military experience in a communications field or an applicable technical discipline; OR,
- 2 years in an accredited technical training program, including 1 year of experience in an applicable communication field; OR,
- 2 years of experience in a communication field or applicable technical discipline.
