About the Role:
The Old Salt at Lamie's Inn is looking for a talented and motivated Prep Cook to join our kitchen team in Hampton, NH! Responsibilities:
- Execute daily prep tasks including chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients to recipe specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist line cooks and kitchen staff during meal service to ensure smooth and timely operations
- Properly store and label all food items following FIFO (first in, first out) procedures
- Prepare sauces, stocks, dressings, and other mise en place items as directed by the Chef
- Monitor and rotate inventory, communicating low stock levels to kitchen management
- Support overall kitchen cleanliness including dish washing and end-of-shift breakdown and cleaning
Requirements:
- Prior experience in a professional kitchen or food service environment preferred
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with standard kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification a plus)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency and quality
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
