What are the responsibilities and job description for the Audiovisual Production Technician position at The Ohio State University?
The Audiovisual Production will be responsible for leading the setup and operation of audio-visual requests in the performance spaces in the Ohio Union. This generally includes the following proficiencies:
- Setting up the room’s AV systems for client use
- Hold a working understanding of the projection, lighting, audio and control systems in the conference spaces in the Ohio Union
- Hold a working understanding of computers and presentation software
- Be able to communicate with the clients day of the events about their AV needs as well as act as a liaison if any other department needs to be contacted for the client
- Be able to lead a small crew of students, delegating tasks or providing training on equipment as necessary
- Be able to successfully execute the events as prescribed
- Working knowledge of performance spaces to be able to lead a crew of students to prepare for the events in the performance space.
- Complete shift reports for event shifts to communicate information with full time staff.
- Hold an understanding of event flow and terminology
- This position will receive additional training in the operation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Yamaha Digital Audio Consoles, ETC Intelligent Lighting Consoles, Video Mixers, and Crestron AV Control Systems.
- Upon successful completion of the trainings, the Event Lead will guide a team of Event Technicians during events to accomplish the goals of the client.
The Audiovisual Production is also responsible to maintain a high standard of customer service while interacting with our clients in the Ohio Union through their communication and appearance.
Duties also include maintaining AV inventory, storage areas and assisting the rest of the team on special set ups.
