Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines, menus, and safety standards, ensuring high-quality food production.
- Assist with food handling, sanitation, and cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Serve meals to residents or patients with professionalism and friendly customer service, ensuring their satisfaction.
- Follow proper food safety protocols, including proper storage, sanitation, and handling procedures to prevent contamination.
- Support the dietary department by bussing tables, cleaning kitchen equipment, and maintaining cleanliness throughout food preparation areas.
- Manage time efficiently to ensure timely meal service while adhering to portion control and dietary restrictions.
- Collaborate with nursing staff or caregiving teams to accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions for residents or patients.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation skills.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards required for food handling and service environments.
- Experience in dietary aide roles or in a healthcare setting supporting nutritional needs is preferred.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
