Job Summary
The Child Care Director is responsible for the overall management, administration, and coordination of all activities within the childcare facility. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality childcare services while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment for children, staff, and parents. The Child Care Director also oversees the implementation of curriculum, compliance with licensing regulations, and the professional development of staff.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and operational oversight for The Oaks.
- Support and model the mission, values, and faith-centered environment of The Oaks and Vie Church.
- Recruit, select, onboard, train, supervise, develop, and retain qualified employees.
- Ensures high-quality programming and curriculum.
- Communicate regularly with parents by means of newsletters, phone calls, e-mails, etc.
- Collaborative work in a fast-paced environment interacting with staff, parents, and the community.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
- Develops and maintains relationships with state childcare licensing and other agencies.
- Create and maintain a safe and healthy environment, ensuring compliance with all state and local licensing regulations.
- Act as the liaison between parents and staff regarding parent concerns and work as the key leader to ensure a safe, fun, and high-quality environment is provided in all areas.
- Manage budgetary aspects of the child care program and seek opportunities for cost-effective operations.
- Keep up with changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by licensing agencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field preferred.
- Must meet all applicable Minnesota child care center director qualification and licensing requirements.
- Minimum of three years’ experience creating, implementing, and managing high quality and large volume childcare programming and facility preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a leadership role preferred.
- Familiarity with licensing regulations and compliance preferred.
