Music Director - Musician (Keyboard Player)

THE MUSIC DIRECTOR is an experienced worship leader and instrumentalist with a heart for leading worship using prayer, scripture and personal experience through music. This person will work collaboratively with Worship Team to unify a great music team that leads the congregation through music.

A Music Director is responsible for, but not limited to: overseeing the musical aspects and all worship and musical equipment including rentals, setup, teardown and transportation of equipment. The Music Director is responsible for teaching all of the music involved for service and rehearsals. Music Director is responsible for communications involving hiring of musicians and musician performance/rehearsal schedules.

Knowledge and Experience:

• You must be able to play music by ear.
• Familiar with running tracks.
• Must have experience playing Keyboard at another church or ministry or be familiar with gospel, contemporary christian music and worship music.
• Must have experience working in a church setting with a worship team; serving on a church staff.
• Experience in organizing and leading Worship Team and musicians.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares rehearsal/performance calendars for all musicians and worship leaders
• Distributes and coordinates the distribution of necessary schedule to musicians
• In cooperation with the pastors and in communication with the worship leader, plan and implement all worship services including all special services
• Use variety of modern and contemporary songs to supplement and strengthen the worship experience
• Works with Sound Engineer to ensure consistent show quality and optimum balance between sound levels and vocals
• Responsible for guiding the work of the music program through the year
• Coordinate the planning and implementation of a comprehensive music ministry
• Schedule musicians for all services (bass, drums, etc.)
• Managing rehearsals and soundchecks of musicians
• Lead or assist in the delivery of all contemporary music needs for special church events as requested
• Lead regular music rehearsals, dictating the volume, phrasing and tempo of music
• Perform related job duties as required and participate and coordinate special events
• Attend all leadership and committee meetings as necessary
• Must arrive on time for scheduled, events, services and rehearsals.
• Must arrive be available for all Sunday services. This is a full-time position.
