The Physical Therapy Department on the Manhattan campus is seeking a full time temporary Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our team! This position will sit in 120 West 106th Street, NY, NY 10025.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA will provide specific physical therapy treatments and related duties as assigned, in a manner that is consistent with The New Jewish Home mission, vision and values.
Job Duties:
- Performs the physical therapy program of residents/patients as planned and directed by the Physical Therapist.
- Follows established procedures and observes safety precautions in the application and use of heat,cold,light, water, sound and massage.
- Carries out positioning and exercise programs.
- Coaches and trains residents/patients in exercises, ambulation and activities of daily living.
- Performs responsibilities appropriate to the established physical therapy services.
- Observes and reports the resident's/patient's responses to the Physical Therapist.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Currently licensed as Physical Therapist Assistant in New York State
- Six months PTA experience required, preferably in long term and sub acute settings.
- Graduate of an accredited curriculum for Physical Therapy Assistants.
Salary : $39 - $41
