What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boys Varsity Soccer Coach position at The New Community School?
The New Community School empowers bright, talented students who are challenged by dyslexia and related learning differences. The athletic program of The New Community School is designed to involve as many students as possible in a variety of interscholastic sports. To this end, it is both instructional and competitive. A head coach and 1-2 assistant coaches are needed for our boys varsity soccer team. Season runs mid-August through the end of October.
Responsibilities
Coaches must be capable of delivering to students a positive experience in education-based athletics while growing the program's competitiveness. In addition to improved individual skills, participants in the program should develop self-discipline, an understanding of teamwork, a sense of fair play, cooperation, sports etiquette, and sportsmanship; plus, the concept of the intrinsic rewards of hard work. They develop pride in building an athletic tradition in a small, close-knit school.
Qualifications
We're looking for high character coaches with a passion for education-based athletics. Coaches who will teach players the game and teach players to love the game.
