Job description:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations including mental health histories, risk assessments, and diagnostic interviews.
- Diagnose mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD, ADHD, etc.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, including monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
- Perform crisis intervention for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or safety concerns.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, screenings) as appropriate for psychiatric care.
- Conduct regular medication follow-ups and adjust treatment plan as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the state of Georgia.
- Masters or Doctoral Degree in Nursing (MSN, DNP) from an accredited PMHNP program.
- Valid DEA registration (or eligibility to obtain), including authorization to prescribe controlled substances.
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience in psychiatric or mental health setting.
- Experience working with diverse population, such as adolescents, adults, geriatric patients, or dual-diagnosis patients.
- Bilingual preferred.
