The Moorings Yacht & Country Club is hiring!
We are currently looking for a Guardhouse staff member. This position is part-time, weekend hours. Age 18 or older preferred.
Basic Function: Responsible for maintaining safe and secure access to the Clubhouse and Club grounds at the Guardhouse and beyond.
Essential duties and responsibilities: The following job duties are essential to the successful and satisfactory performance of this job. Other duties may be assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all members, guests and employees by monitoring access points and determining, via the credentials provided, if entry is permitted.
- Maintains grounds by monitoring access points; permitting entry.
- Obtains help by sounding alarms and contacting the appropriate personnel.
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures.
- Control traffic by directing drivers.
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; obtaining signatures when necessary.
- Maintains company stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Monitor closed circuit security footage and monitors regularly.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Protect the clubs assets relative to theft, assault, fire and other safety issues.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must be cognizant of the rules and regulations of the facility for the safety and welfare of the staff and members.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and meet all deadlines.
- Adhere to all stated policies and procedures.
- Adhere to appearance standards consistently.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills:
- Positive interpersonal, customer service skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of security operations and procedure.
- Knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures.
- Emotional control, judgement, integrity and objectivity required.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills in Word and Excel.
Knowledge and Certificates: None.
Experience: Prior experience preferred but not required.

- Requires indoor and outdoor work.
- Schedule and times are usually set but may vary occasionally.
- While performing duties of the job, employee is required to stand, stoop, bend, and reach overhead.

- Must be able to pull and lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds occasionally.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Classification: Hourly, non-exempt.
Supervision: No supervisory duties are included in this position.
