This position involves handling dynamic financial data, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and driving profitability for property owners, property management companies, or real estate investors.

- Financial Record Keeping
- Maintain and update financial records for all short-term rental properties, including income from bookings and expenses such as cleaning services, utilities, maintenance, and platform fees.
- Record transactions and reconcile bank statements, ensuring accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping
- Oversee day-to-day financial records for business operations, ensuring all expenditures and revenues align with company goals
- Tax Preparation and Compliance
- Calculate and file applicable taxes, including local occupancy taxes, property taxes, payroll taxes, and federal income taxes
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations applicable to short-term rentals and business operations
- Prepare tax documentation for employees, contractors, and vendors
- Payroll Management
- Process payroll for company staff, ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Manage payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
- Track employee hours, overtime, vacation pay, and bonuses to ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies
- Prepare payroll reports for management review and auditing purposes
- Business Accounting
- Develop budgets and forecasts for business operations and rental properties
- Analyze financial performance to identify areas for cost savings and revenue improvement
- Advise on financial strategies to optimize profitability and investment opportunities
- Ensure accurate reporting of business assets, liabilities, and equity
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting or financial management
- Experience working with short term rental platforms is highly desirable
- Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables, VLOOKUP and financial modeling
- Familiarity with property management software or tools is an advantage
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple properties and assignments effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
- Effective communication skills for presenting financial reports and collaborating with stakeholders
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial documents and transactions
- This position is part-time, with the potential to transition to full-time based on the size and scope of the portfolio of properties managed
