The Role
Kansas City's commercial construction market is booming, and one of the region's most respected electrical contractors wants you at the table. You will own the full estimating process on complex commercial projects, from drawings to final bid.
What You Will Do
- Prepare detailed electrical construction estimates covering labor, materials, and equipment
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Solicit, analyze, and qualify subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Price specialty and standard electrical equipment
- Develop assumptions, clarifications, and risk assessments
- Support value engineering, budgeting, and preconstruction pricing
- Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and preconstruction teams to ensure seamless project handoff
What You Bring
- 2 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial construction
- Knowledge of commercial electrical systems, materials, and installation methods
- Proficiency in Trimble Accubid (v16 preferred) and Microsoft Office
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
