What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child, Adolescent & Adult Psychiatric APRN/Therapist position at The Mohegan Tribe of Indians Of Connecticut?
Summary of Job Description:
Incumbent in this position provides advanced nursing care to patients of all ages, working as part of a team focusing on tribal family mental health and wellness. Provides disease prevention, diagnosis, medication evaluation and treatment of psychiatric and health conditions. Provides counseling services including individual, group, and family therapy. Provides parenting education and other prevention/educational programs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to make independent decisions based on protocol
- Ability to document and navigate Electronic Health Records (EHR) independently
- Effectively communicate and interact with individuals involved in all aspects of treatment, including but not limited to children, parents, partner agencies, and Mohegan Tribe employees
- Proficient computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in nursing with focus on psychiatric nursing
- Must possess the following:
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner ANCC Board Certified, State of CT Licensure
- Federal DEA and CT Controlled Substance Registration
- APRN, State of Connecticut
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in the Human Services field working with children, adolescents, and adults delivering high quality, patient centered care
- Experience providing counseling services to alcohol and drug-dependent clients, including intervention and relapse prevention
- Successful candidate must pass the background check and continue to be eligible for employment in accordance with The Mohegan Tribe’s Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Policy
- No Suspension/exclusion/debarment from participation in federal or state health care programs (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, Husky)
- Ability to work 40 full hours per week with work hours usually falling between 7am and 7pm
