Summary of Job Description:
Incumbent is a supervisor responsible for understanding mechanical systems in all Mohegan tribal government facilities and provides direction, assignments, and supervision to support staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Knowledge and ability to research current building codes and National Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical Codes
- Working knowledge of safe work practices, including Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures and occupational hazards
- Ability to read and interpret manuals, specifications, drawings, and blueprints
- Ability to perform basic shop mathematics and use a computer and related software programs
- Oral and written communication skills, including recordkeeping skills
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to train and supervise staff on projects
- High school diploma or GED
- Preference of maintaining one of the following trade licenses: E1, P1 or S1
- Three (3) years of journey-level experience performing one of the skilled trades of electrical, plumbing and mechanical installation, or maintenance and repair work in a commercial or industrial setting
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience
- Experience in using a wide variety of hand, power and shop tools and equipment common in the electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical and HVAC trades
- Valid driver’s license from state of residence
- Ability to lift/move 50 pounds
- Ability to work in adverse conditions such as extreme cold and extreme heat, dust, noise, and wetness
- Ability to perform essential duties with physical demands such as lifting/moving, pushing/pulling, kneeling, climbing (including ladders), crouching, and reaching
- Ability to perform around mechanical hazards, moving objects, and mechanical equipment
- Successful candidate must pass the background check and continue to be eligible for employment in accordance with The Mohegan Tribe’s Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Protection Policy
- Ability to work as required for emergencies, snow/ice removal and special events
- Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule
