About Us
The Model Experience presents the NY Fashion Week Festival, a two-day fashion and entertainment experience that brings together fashion, music, celebrities, designers, brands, media, and emerging talent. This year's festival will feature major performances, designer showcases, and high-profile industry guests.
We are seeking an experienced and well-connected In-House Publicist to lead media relations and publicity efforts in the months leading up to the event.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic PR campaign for NY Fashion Week Festival.
- Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and event announcements.
- Pitch stories and secure media coverage with fashion, entertainment, and lifestyle publications, including outlets such as Vogue, WWD, Harper's Bazaar, ELLE, Fashionista, Essence, Refinery29, Forbes, and local New York media.
- Build relationships with editors, journalists, influencers, and media contacts.
- Coordinate and manage celebrity outreach and invitations.
- Secure attendance from celebrities, influencers, stylists, tastemakers, and notable industry figures.
- Coordinate press credentials and media check-in procedures for the event.
- Identify and pursue interview opportunities for event organizers, designers, sponsors, and talent.
- Assist in developing talking points and press materials.
- Work closely with marketing and social media teams to maximize event visibility.
- Provide weekly updates on media outreach efforts, confirmed placements, and celebrity RSVPs.
- Attend both event days in person and assist with on-site media relations.
Qualifications
- 3 years of public relations experience in fashion, entertainment, events, or luxury brands.
- Existing relationships with fashion editors, entertainment media, and celebrity representatives strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of securing media placements and press coverage.
- Strong writing skills with experience drafting professional press materials.
- Exceptional communication and networking abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Previous New York Fashion Week or major event experience is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Celebrity booking or VIP relations experience.
- Existing contacts within fashion publications and entertainment media.
- Experience managing red carpets, press lines, or large-scale events.
Commitment
- Part-time contract role beginning immediately through September 2026.
- Flexible hours leading up to the event.
