Repair Mechanic (Heavy Equipment)
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Pay Rate: $30 - $40 per hour

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Repair Mechanic with a strong background in heavy equipment to join our Los Angeles team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of specialized utility and cable-handling equipment. This role requires an individual who is proficient in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, and who can work independently and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a range of heavy equipment, including but not limited to:
Bucket Trucks (aerial lifts)
Digger Derricks
Cable Handling Trailers
Underground Pullers
Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and practical experience.
Execute repairs and replacements of components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, electrical wiring, and control systems.
Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding repair status and any potential issues.
Keep work area clean and organized.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, specifically with experience working on bucket trucks, digger derricks, cable handling trailers, and/or underground pullers.
Must possess a comprehensive set of personal tools adequate for performing the duties outlined.
Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical (12V/24V systems), and mechanical systems.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical manuals.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Valid California Driver's License; CDL preferred but not required.
Certification in hydraulics, electrical systems, or heavy equipment repair is a plus.
Must be able to lift heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
