We are seeking a per diem and part-time Cardiac Sonographer to join the echocardiography team at The Cardiovascular Institute, a program of The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will perform and interpret ultrasonic evaluations of the heart with consideration for the age-specific needs of all patients. You will also foster patient and family-centered care in accordance with the hospital’s mission, vision, and values. Part-time and per-diem day shift roles with an hourly pay range of $39.56-$65.28.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all related techniques and applications for M-mode and two-dimensional echocardiography and Doppler echocardiography (pulsed, cw, color flow, exercise, and contrast echocardiography)
  • Follow the imaging protocols as outlined in the CVI procedure manual and explain echocardiographic procedures to patients and answer any questions
  • Provide safety and comfort to all patients in accordance with the prescribed standards and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate patients' needs
  • Assists in teaching cardiology fellows and participate in data collection and analysis of research conducted by physician staff
  • Maintain knowledge and expertise in professional disciplines and educational methodologies by continuing professional development and participating in ongoing independent study, education-related professional activities, and affiliations
  • Maintain quality assurance, safety, and environmental and infection control in accordance with established hospital department policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in Cardiac Ultrasound medicine
  • Completion of a CAAEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs) accredited ultrasound program
  • Eligible to sit for the certificate examination offered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Ability to lift and position patients, and lift supplies up to 50 pounds
