Located minutes from downtown Minneapolis, MN, The Minikahda Club was founded in 1898, It is the oldest country club west of the Mississippi and a premier club in the region. The Club experience is focused on providing superior social and recreational experiences based on the values of family, fellowship, integrity, respect, and inclusiveness.

Job Summary:

This is a seasonal tennis coaching position

Essential Duties/Functions:

• Teaching members on court 15-30 hours a week.
• Off court duties 5-10 hours a week plus on a need basis.

This would include some evening, weekend or morning lessons.

• Enthusiastically promotes tennis at the Club.
• Handle management duties in the Director’s absence.
• Teaches at most levels, ages and abilities.
• Responsible for attendance and billing for juniors, private and adult lessons.
• Must track and turn in lesson / pro payroll.
• Will assist with court maintenance as needed.
• Available to work pro shop hours if required/needed.
• Other duties that are demanded by the business.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• 2-3 years prior teaching experience.                                                                                                                                                  
• Competency required in pro shop duties, team teaching, facilities and court maintenance, problem solving for members, playing with members.
• Show knowledge and display of our service standards. 

Education and Experience:

• High school degree or above.
• High school and college tennis experience required or playing background.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work outside for long periods in the summer months.      
• Must be able to handle general maintenance duties and lifting up to 20 lbs.                                                                          

Licenses and Special Requirements:

• Pro certification is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay Rate:

• Based on resume and experience
• $20 - $40 junior hourly teaching rate                                                                                      
• $70 rate for private lessons
• Discretionary stipend based on experience
• 30 hours per week
