The Millworks prides itself on being a farm-driven restaurant, sourcing ingredients directly from local Pennsylvanian farmers. We are a cook-from-scratch kitchen that focuses on using farm-fresh ingredients and value the creativity and talent our staff put into crafting each menu item which enhances the amazing flavor the ingredients hold from the love the farmer put into growing/ raising them.

The Role

As a Line Cook you will be responsible for a variety of duties in the kitchen from stocking stations, preparing food for service, and cooking menu items per recipes. You will need to possess great ability to work in a team environment and cooperate with the kitchen staff. This position will report to the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef.

• Assisting with stocking and setting up kitchen stations
• Preparing food, including cleaning and cutting ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks
• Working with servers to ensure orders are completed according to request and
• on time
• Washing/ cleaning kitchen and cooking utensils and storing equipment at the end of the shifts
• Ensuring the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
• Work closely with other passionate culinarians in a team environment
• Be creative with new ideas for menu items and specials

What We Are Looking For

• Ability work evenings, weekends, and some holidays
• A minimum of 2-year professional cook-from-scratch kitchen experience (will consider without this experience if has good work history in kitchen)
• Possesses great knife skills
• Great teamwork/ communication skills and good attitude
• Knowledge of cooking techniques and ability to follow recipes
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to keep an organized and clean workspace
• Reliable and accountable
• Culinary School degree preferred by not required if experienced

The Millworks is a high-volume restaurant that works towards taking advantage of local ingredients and driving sustainability while optimizing the customer experience. The restaurant serves 4,000 customers per week between our dining room, bar, outdoor courtyard, private events room, and rooftop Biergarten. We also house our own brewery, brewing up to 15 varieties of craft beer!
