What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at The Millennium Group?
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of basic print production utilizing mid to high-volume B/W and color digital printing.
- Experience in operating large format poster printers with a minimum understanding of rips, color correction, lamination, mounting and trimming.
- Ability to select appropriate machines to run specific jobs.
- Ability to adapt to work volume peaks with minimum direction Ability to ensure that quality and production standards are met.
- Strong ability to understand and follow specifications of both electronic and manual print forms
- Monitor, evaluate and produce according to schedule all digital print and finishing work, including flyers, booklets, presentations and other material in a quality and timely manner.
- Ability to take direction from client and customers on job requirements (including: supplies, due dates and quality checks).
- Must possess a strong attention to detail- checking for color accuracy, alignments, type breaks and quality of output and ability to make adjustments as necessary
- Monitor and oversee all print jobs for accuracy (performing various Quality control checks) based on client requirements.
- Perform or oversee all machine maintenance.
- Assist in generating reports measuring production volumes, meter reads and usage totals.
- Monitor inventory of all paper, products and supplies.
- Interface daily with various customers (either in person, telephone or email) on printing issues.
- Deliver and pickup customer jobs, when necessary.
- Coordinate internal deliveries and maintain accurate shipping logs.
- Keeps client/manager informed of operational efficiencies and potential problems.
- Able to set priorities; must be flexible to adapt to changes and multi-task.
- Must demonstrate leadership qualities and high customer service skills.
- Other duties as assigned by TMG management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have experience in copy and finishing services.
- Minimum 3 years print shop experience or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years customer service and office related experience.
- Excellent customer service skills; must possess a "can do" attitude.
- Computer knowledge with Microsoft Suite, Excel and Spreadsheets.
- Graphic Design, proficiency in PITSTOP, ADOBE Pro
- Handle multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to effectively work individually and in team environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Competency in performing multiple functional tasks.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with Clients
- Assertive and resourceful; self-motivated; willing to ask questions and take initiative be able to communicate clearly.
