What are the responsibilities and job description for the Apartment Maintenance Technician position at The Mid-America Management Corporation?
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team at one of Indianapolis's premier apartment communities, River Road Apartments. Our Apartment Maintenance Technician will support the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure that work orders are completed and vacant units are made ready for new residents. Projects may include different levels of carpentry, plumbing, electric work, hardware installations and repairs for vacant and occupied residential units. HVAC and pool certification preferred, but not necessary. We will train you at our expense! The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition. Support with groundskeeping duties when necessary.

Responsibilities
- Perform repairs to make-ready units in a timely manner.
- Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
- Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
- Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Conduct general upkeep procedures and other tasks as assigned.
- On-call is required on a rotating basis with other members of your maintenance team.
Skills
- Proven experience as maintenance technician, supervisory experience preferred.
- HVAC certified
- Basic understanding of electrical, construction and plumbing trades
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
