Title: Facilities Team Member

The Role. The Facilities Team Member will help the school and the greater MVS community by performing duties assigned by the Director of Facilities and Grounds. This position is vital in maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the school’s facilities.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Dining Hall and Lunch Service:Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the cafeteria, with a primary focus on cleaning and sanitizing immediately following the last lunch period each day.
- Floor Care:Perform routine daily floor maintenance and scheduled deep cleaning of floors in the building.
- Event Support: Provide essential facilities support for campus events, including the setup and teardown of equipment, seating, and other needs.
- Safety and security:Perform the necessary actions to secure the facility, including closing and locking of all required doors at the end of the shift.
- Shared Responsibilities: Participate in the shared responsibility of cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility and actively cross-train with team members on other shifts to provide support as needed
- Audits and Feedback: Conduct regular building audits and provide timely written or verbal feedback to the Director of Facilities and Grounds regarding the building's condition and required maintenance.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with divisional leadership to understand and meet the special needs of each division/department, ensuring the quality of support aligns with the campus's overall mission and vision.
- Process Management: Maintain current facilities processes and collaborate with the Director of Facilities and Grounds to develop and implement new operational procedures as appropriate.
- Strategic Planning: Assist the Director of Facilities and Grounds in developing and executing the strategic plan for facilities operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Focus on continuous improvements to the campus facility, operations, and appearance.
- Other Duties: Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Grounds to ensure the effective operation of the facility and campus.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequently lift equipment and materials weighing 50 pounds or more.
- Crawl, climb ladders, twist, turn and reach in completing a variety of job duties.
- Work outside in hot or cold conditions for extended periods of time.
- Work in a wide variety of environments as found in all areas of the school.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of facilities and grounds experience in a school setting (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass a BCI & FBI background check
