We're looking for a passionate, driven, and talented Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team in a HIGH-VOLUME and fast paced kitchen. This is the perfect opportunity for an experienced cook or Lead Line Cook ready to take the next step into kitchen management while working alongside accomplished chefs in a high-volume, chef-driven environment.
As a Junior Sous Chef, you'll play a critical role in daily kitchen operations, team development, food quality, and service execution. You'll help lead by example, mentor team members, and ensure every plate leaving the kitchen reflects our commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with daily kitchen operations and service execution
- Support the supervision, training, and development of line cooks and prep cooks
- Ensure food quality, consistency, presentation, and execution meet company standards
- Assist with prep lists, inventory management, ordering, and waste control
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
- Enforce all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Step into leadership roles during shifts and support service in the absence of senior chefs
- Help ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and on schedule
- Troubleshoot operational challenges and resolve issues quickly and professionally
- Foster a positive, productive, and team-oriented culture
- Lead by example through professionalism, urgency, and attention to detail
- 1–3 years of professional high-volume kitchen experience
- Lead Line Cook experience preferred
- Culinary school training is a plus, but not required
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and kitchen procedures
- Leadership mindset with a desire to learn, grow, and mentor others
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, restaurant management software, and POS systems
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
