Position Summary
- Provides direct supervision in the reprocessing, and maintenance of reusable instrumentation, medical supplies, and equipment used in the health care facility.
- Oversees distribution of instruments and supplies to surgery via a case cart system, ensuring efficient and timely flow.
- Oversees assigned activities to the department to ensure quality, productivity, and performance expectations are met.
- Coordinates orientation, training, and scheduling of central sterile processing personnel.
- Monitors the productivity and effectiveness of the Central Sterile Processing Department.
- Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
- 2 years of recent operating room or sterile processing experience with general knowledge of instrument processing technology and experience training team members.
- Certification by a national agency in sterile processing within 6 months of employment.
- Demonstrated PC proficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Case cart management experience
- Lean or equivalent process improvement experience
- May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
- May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
- Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
- Ability to read job related documents.
