Advanced Practice Provider-County Correctional Healthcare

Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.
Because of the strong commitment to the needs of the community, the MetroHealth System has built a new 110-bed inpatient behavioral health hospital in Cleveland Heights, Ohio with specialized units serving adolescents, geriatrics, adult psychiatric intensive care, adult substance use disorders, adult thought disorders, and adult mood disorders. Partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment programs will be attached to this hospital as well.
We're growing and we are seeking highly motivated, adaptable individuals with an interest in delivering excellent healthcare as a Family Practice/Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner for the Cuyahoga County Correctional Facility, which houses on average, 1600 patient/inmates each day. MetroHealth is the contracted medical provider for care in the facility and proudly provides National Commission on Correctional Health Care accredited level care to all patients.

Requirements to be considered.
- MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code
- Graduate of an accredited advanced practice Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Program
- Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty PMHNP.
- Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Advanced Practice Provider, with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously; capable of providing care without physician supervision
- Experience in Correctional Medicine preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire.
- Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire
- Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges
- Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing Note: Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process.
