Job Summary
Contributes to the fulfillment of the organization’s mission and vision by advising on and planning for the System’s enterprise-wide risk and insurance management programs. Works collaboratively with the Deputy General Counsel – Litigation & Risk to address high-level quality, patient safety and compliance issues to develop and maintain a culture of quality, safety and integrity and carry out various special projects as assigned. Serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications
Required:
- Juris Doctorate (JD).
- 10 years of risk management experience in a hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of legal theory and practice, and knowledge of specific laws and regulations imposed on health care systems by various agencies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills, and change management skills.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate a variety of activities and projects.
- Demonstrated strong Microsoft Office skills including Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, mentoring, customer service and excellent interpersonal skills required along with experience in working with multi-disciplinary groups.
- Experience with management of insurance programs, including self-insurance and captive insurance programs.
- Certified Professional of Health Care Risk Management, or Associate in Risk Management
- May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating.
- May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing.
- Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
- Ability to read job related documents.
- Ability to use computer.
